Letters Letters of Frances Hodgkins The Alexander Turnbull Library, of Wellington, New Zealand, is sponsoring an edition of the letters of Frances Hodgkins. This edition, which is authorized by the Field-Hodgkins family, owners of the copyright, and which it is hoped to make definitive, will be based in the main on the already large collection of letters now held by the Library. But since Frances Hodgkins, in the course of a working life of over fifty years, maintained an active correspondence with a wide circle of relatives, friends and professional associates, it is felt that there may still be extant letters which have not yet come to light, and which would add immeasurably to the value of the projected edition. May I appeal to any of your readers who may possess or have information about such correspondence to communicate either with me, or through me, with the editor, Dr E.A. Sheppard? I should be most grateful also for information of a general kind relating to Frances Hodgkins - personal reminiscences, details of her many paintings dispersed in private ownership and so far uncatalogued, photographs, etc. All information supplied will be regarded as confidential. All letters, and other material entrusted to the library will be treated with the utmost care, and returned after copying. J.E. TRAUE
I am researching the life and work of Raymond Francis Mcintyre, 1878-1933, and would be grateful if any information about his life and paintings could be sent to me at the following address. MELVIN DAY |
